Each week of the NFL season you build an eight-player lineup under a $50,000 salary cap, and it scores points from real games. You can play in private leagues with people you invite, and results appear on a public leaderboard.

There are no entry fees, no prizes and no payments of any kind. Nothing here can be bought, won or cashed out. It is a scorekeeping game for bragging rights.

You need to be at least 13. If you are under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian is happy with you using it.

One account per person. Signing up repeatedly to fill a league with yourself spoils it for everyone else in that league.

Do not:

• Use more than one account, in any league or on the leaderboard.
• Automate lineups at a scale that degrades the game for other people, or scrape the site heavily enough to affect it.
• Choose a display name, league name or crest that is abusive, hateful, or impersonates somebody else.
• Try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to any of it.

We can remove content or close an account that does these things. For anything short of deliberate abuse we will tell you why first.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. The names you choose — yours, your league’s — are visible to other people, and on the public leaderboard where no account is needed to look.

You keep whatever rights you have in what you write. You give us permission to display it inside the game, which is the only thing we would do with it.

Scoring uses NFL statistics from third-party providers. Sunday numbers are provisional and are reconciled against corrected data on Tuesday, so a score can change after a week appears finished. That is the system working, not a fault.

We may also have to correct a mistake of our own — a bad price, a mis-scored week. If it materially changes a result we will say so rather than quietly restate it.

This is a free service and comes with no guarantee of uptime. Games are played on a schedule we do not control, and if something breaks during one, we will fix it as fast as we can but cannot promise it will be in time.

We may change how the game works, including scoring, between seasons or within one. Changes that affect a season in progress will be announced in the app.

You can stop whenever you like, and ask us to delete your account by emailing privacy@budgetball.xyz.

We can close an account that breaks these terms. Results already recorded in a league may stay in that league’s history without a name attached, because removing them would change other people’s seasons.

Budget Ball is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from using it — which, given nothing can be won or spent here, should not amount to much.

Budget Ball is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the National Football League, any NFL team, or any player. Team and player names are used descriptively to identify real people and real games.

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Anything significant will be flagged in the app rather than left for you to notice.
